Description

The Traditions A1284 is a .50 caliber cleaning and loading jag built from solid brass and cut with a standard 10-32 thread that fits any 10-32 threaded ramrod, cleaning rod, or loading tool. It is a simple, purpose-built accessory for servicing the bore of a muzzleloader barrel and for seating a patch on top of a powder charge during loading.

Traditions machines the A1284 from solid brass and cuts multiple grooves into the tip so a cleaning patch is gripped firmly and stays put inside the bore. The concave, cupped end doubles as a loading tip, easing the start of a patched round ball or sabot into the muzzle and centering the patch on the bore. Because the jag is solid brass, it will not scratch or score a barrel the way a steel tip can, making it well suited to both cleaning and loading duty on a black powder rifle.

Sized for .50 caliber muzzleloader barrels, the A1284 is a standard jag designed for Traditions muzzleloader ramrods and cleaning rods, and it is compatible with any other manufacturer’s rod that accepts a 10-32 threaded jag. It is sold as a single jag and is intended for muzzleloader bore cleaning and patch loading.
