The Strike Industries AR Forward Assist is a lightweight drop-in replacement for the standard AR-15/M16 forward assist, designed to shed weight without giving up positive engagement with the bolt carrier ratchets. The plunger is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a hard anodized black finish, while the pawl is built from tool steel to keep a sure bite on the bolt carrier for the long haul.
Engineered as a direct-fit upgrade for standard AR-15 upper receivers and M16-pattern uppers, this forward assist installs in place of the factory unit and is intended for builders looking to trim every possible gram from a competition or lightweight carbine.
