Description
The Streamlight TLR-8 A is a compact rail-mounted weapon light that pairs a high-output 500-lumen white LED with an integrated red aiming laser in a single, low-profile housing. The custom optic produces a concentrated 5,000-candela beam reaching out to 140 meters, making it well suited for defensive, duty, and recreational shooters running rail-equipped handguns.
The body is CNC-machined from 6000-series aircraft-grade aluminum with a black anodized finish for corrosion and wear resistance. At just 2.58″ long and 2.64 oz, the TLR-8 A adds minimal bulk to the host firearm. An IPX4 water-resistance rating keeps the light running through rain and incidental splashes.
Power comes from a single CR123A lithium battery, providing 1.5 hours of runtime in LED-only or LED-plus-laser mode and up to 60 hours in laser-only mode. A user-enabled strobe is built in for signaling or target disruption.
The “A” designation denotes the included flex switch kit, which provides interchangeable rear paddle switches – including high and low ambidextrous paddles – so the light can be tailored to a wide range of handgun platforms. The TLR-8 A attaches via a tool-free rail clamp system that mates securely to most compact and full-size rail-equipped pistols; mounting keys and hardware are included.
