The Savage Mark II FXP is a full-size, bolt-action 22 LR rimfire rifle purpose-built for hunting and recreational target shooting. Part of Savage’s factory XP package, this rifle ships optics-ready out of the box with a mounted and bore-sighted 3-9x40mm duplex scope, so it is ready to shoot the moment it leaves the box.
At the heart of the Mark II FXP is a 21-inch carbon steel sporter barrel button-rifled for accuracy and capped with a target crown for consistent shot-to-shot performance. The barrel carries a matte blued finish, mates to a blued carbon steel receiver that is drilled and tapped for scope bases, and turns at a 1:16″ twist optimized for standard 22 LR ammunition. Savage’s legendary AccuTrigger provides a user-adjustable, crisp release that promotes accuracy without creep, while a thumb-operated safety adds everyday control.
The rifle wears a fixed OD green synthetic stock with integrated swivel studs for sling attachment, giving it classic field-rifle ergonomics and weather-resistant durability. At 39.5 inches overall and weighing just 6.2 lbs, the Mark II FXP balances and handles well for both adult shooters and smaller-framed hunters. A 5-round detachable box magazine feeds the action, and the right-hand configuration suits the majority of right-handed shooters.
