Description
The Pietta 1858 Remington Target Model is an Italian-made reproduction of the Civil War-era percussion revolver, chambered in 44 Cal for traditional black powder shooting. Built around a substantial blued steel frame, this Target variant upgrades the legendary 1858 New Model Army design with target-grade features aimed at shooters who want extra precision from a muzzleloading revolver.
An 8″ blued octagonal steel barrel tops the action and pairs with a matching blued steel cylinder that holds six rounds. The barrel is cut with a 1:30″ twist, and the revolver measures 14.60″ overall with a heft of 2.75 lbs for a steady, well-balanced feel on the range.
A traditional brass trigger guard and a finished walnut grip complete the period-correct styling. This Target Model is fitted with an adjustable rear sight and a taller front sight for refined aiming at extended ranges, a meaningful upgrade over the fixed-sight configuration. The smooth, single-action striker-fired trigger pulls consistently shot after shot, making the revolver equally well suited to casual plinking and serious black powder target work.
Whether you are a black powder enthusiast, a Civil War reenactor, or a target shooter looking for an authentic percussion revolver with target accuracy, the Pietta 1858 Remington Target Model delivers historical character and reliable performance in one well-made package.
