The Otis Ripcord is a 36-inch bore cleaning rope built to clear fouling from .30 caliber / 7.62mm rifle bores without the hassle of patches and rods. The rope is constructed around a Nomex and rubber core and exposes a 10-inch section of aggressive cleaning surface that scrapes loose carbon and copper fouling while capturing debris in a single pass, effectively combining brush and patch in one pull.
Sized for the popular .30-caliber rifle family, the Ripcord is engineered for .308 Winchester, 7.62mm NATO, 30-06 Springfield, and 30-30 Winchester chambers and barrels. Its 360-degree cleaning contact works the full circumference of the bore, and the easy-feed design pulls straight through from breech to muzzle so the rope self-equalizes pressure against the bore, reducing wear on the crown and throat while dramatically shortening cleaning time in the field or at the bench.
Standard 8-32″ threads on each end of the Ripcord mate with Otis weighted cables and accessories, making it a versatile drop-in addition to any rifle cleaning kit. Run it solo for fast field cleanups or follow up with patches and solvent for a deep detail session.
