Whether you are trimming rimfire, centerfire rifle, or handgun brass, this single tool covers the full range of common U.S. metallic cartridges.
The trimmer accepts cases that have been full-length or neck-resized and deprimed, and it features both coarse and fine adjustments so you can dial in trim length to your exact spec. The Universal Chuckhead self-centers each case and the cutter produces a clean, square cut. For high-volume work the unit can also be driven by a power source operating between 140 and 1000 RPM, converting this hand tool into a power trimmer on demand.
Out of the box the Lyman 7862000 ships with 9 of the most popular pilots to cover the most common bottleneck and straight-wall case mouth diameters. Additional pilots are sold separately for less common calibers, and because the chuckhead handles the case body, you can swap pilots quickly without buying a full set of collets. The frame is finished in Lyman’s signature orange for easy spotting on the reloading bench.
