The Kleen-Bore MOP12 is a dedicated shotgun cotton bore mop sized for 12 Gauge shotgun bores. Woven from 100% cotton, this absorbent mop threads onto any standard cleaning rod fitted with a 5/16-27 male thread, making it a drop-in matchup for the most common shotgun cleaning rod configuration on the market.
A bore mop is the second step of a proper shotgun clean. After running a phosphor bronze or nylon bore brush through the bore to cut fouling, the mop is used wet with a quality CLP or solvent to scrub and lift loosened debris from the bore, then run dry a second time to pick up remaining residue and leave a thin film of lubricant behind. The 100% cotton construction is highly absorbent, holds solvent well, and conforms to the bore to wipe it clean without scratching.
This single-pack includes one (1) MOP12 cotton mop and is intended for use with a user-supplied cleaning rod and handle. Pair it with a Kleen-Bore 12 Gauge bore brush and a quality gun solvent for a complete shotgun bore cleaning routine.
