Description
The Howa M1500 Standard Hunter is a purpose-built bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .308 Winchester. Manufactured by Howa in Japan, this rifle pairs a 22″ stainless steel threaded barrel with a matching stainless steel receiver, giving the metalwork excellent corrosion resistance for hunting in wet or humid environments.
Built around Howa’s proven M1500 bolt-action, the Standard Hunter feeds from a 5+1 capacity detachable box magazine. The barrel is cut with a 1:8″ twist to stabilize the wide range of bullet weights commonly used for big game hunting. The threaded muzzle allows the easy addition of a suppressor or muzzle brake.
The rifle wears a classic fixed walnut stock in a warm brown finish, paired with silver/gray stainless metalwork for a clean, traditional hunting-rifle appearance. Configured for right-hand shooters, the stock is shaped for comfortable field carry and stable shooting from a variety of positions.
Howa backs the 1500 Standard Hunter with a Sub-MOA guarantee, meaning the rifle is capable of producing three-shot groups under one inch at 100 yards with premium factory match ammunition. Weighing in at 7.20 lbs with an overall length of 41.50″, it balances nicely for spot-and-stalk hunting, stand hunting, and backcountry carry.
