Description
The Hornady SST (Super Shock Tip) is a premium polymer-tipped boat tail bullet engineered for rapid, reliable expansion and strong terminal performance on impact. Sized for 270 Caliber rifle cartridges at .277″ diameter, this 150 grain projectile uses Hornady’s signature InterLock ring system to mechanically lock the copper jacket and lead core together, retaining mass and energy on game.
A streamlined polymer tip initiates consistent expansion at higher velocities, while the boat tail base delivers a G1 ballistic coefficient of .525 and a sectional density of .279 for flat trajectory and strong downrange energy retention. A cannelure is provided to secure the bullet in the case mouth during handloading. The SST is a purpose-built hunting bullet for the .270 Winchester and similar 270-class cartridges.
These new-production reloading bullets are packaged 100 per box, with 15 boxes per case (1,500 bullets per case). Unprimed projectiles only – brass cases, primers, and powder are sold separately.
