Description
The Barnes Bullets Tipped TSX in 458 SOCOM is a premium all-copper hunting bullet engineered for the popular AR-platform big-bore cartridge. The TTSX (Tipped Triple-Shock X) Boat Tail profile pairs a polymer tip with four razor-sharp cutting petals and Barnes’ signature grooved copper shank to deliver rapid expansion, deep penetration, and virtually 100% weight retention on tough game.
Each projectile features a 100% solid copper body with a polymer tip and a tapered boat-tail base, measuring 1.235″ OAL and weighing 300 gr. The polymer tip and boat-tail geometry combine for a G1 ballistic coefficient of .236 and a sectional density of .204. A cannelure around the shank gives handloaders a positive crimp seat when assembling 458 SOCOM loads.
Barnes rates the Tipped TSX for large game hunting, where the four cutting petals open quickly on impact for a devastating wound channel while the all-copper construction drives through heavy muscle and bone, retaining nearly all of its mass. Each box contains 50 projectiles.
