Description
The Pietta 1851 Navy is a faithful reproduction of one of the most celebrated single-action percussion revolvers of the American frontier, chambered in .36 caliber with a 7.50″ octagonal barrel and a 6-round cylinder. This Steel-frame version pairs period-correct lines with modern production quality and is purpose-built for black powder cap-and-ball shooting.
The revolver features a color case hardened steel frame paired with a blued octagonal barrel and blued cylinder, giving it the classic two-tone look that collectors and shooters look for. Traditional walnut grips complete the period appearance. The action is single-action only (SAO) with striker-fired percussion ignition – load each chamber with black powder and a lead ball, place a cap on the nipple, and cock the hammer for each shot.
Designed for traditional muzzleloading use, the 1851 Navy is fitted with a 1:30 twist rate well-suited to round lead balls and conical projectiles.
