At the heart of every V-Max bullet is a precision-swaged lead core encapsulated in a consistently concentric copper jacket, topped with Hornady’s signature polymer tip. The sharp polymer point initiates dramatic expansion on impact at velocities as low as 1600 fps, while the streamlined secant ogive and boat-tail base keep the bullet flying flat and tracking accurately at extended ranges.
With a ballistic coefficient of 0.365 (G1) and a sectional density of 0.195, the 95 grain 6.5mm V-Max is a natural fit for varmint rifles chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and other 6.5mm cartridges, where it excels as a high-volume prairie dog, coyote, and groundhog load.
