The Rock Island Armory 51623 Rock Ultra FS is a full-size 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol built on the classic M1911-A1 platform. Manufactured by Armscor in the Philippines, this 1911 variant pairs the traditional single-action trigger feel with modern usability upgrades like fiber optic sights, a low-profile beavertail, and textured G10 grip panels.
At the heart of the pistol is a 5″ button-rifled barrel supported by a full-length guide rod, giving the Rock Ultra FS an overall length of 8.5″ and a heft of 40 oz. The single-action-only (SAO) action runs crisply, and the ambidextrous thumb safety pairs with the beavertail frame to let the shooter’s hand ride high on the backstrap for improved recoil management and a more natural pointing grip.
The steel frame wears a durable black parkerized finish that matches the serrated slide, while the Black/Gray G10 grip panels stay positive in the hand even in wet conditions.
